Adam Freed

Over the past 17 years, Adam has covered a number of roles including system design, test, and integration, human factors research, project management, and sales. With a passion for safety and efficiency in system design, he is currently the Managing Partner and Human Factors Consultant at FactorSafe Solutions. Adam also acts as Chair of CapCHI, a local chapter of ACM SIGCHI, as well as Conference Chair of IoT613, Ottawa’s Internet of Things conference, returning on September 29-30, 2016. A proven communicator and team leader, Adam possesses a forward thinking, innovative approach, never settling for the status quo.

Dom Saul

Dominira Saul possesses a great deal of formal training in both the study of human behaviour and the design of human – machine interfaces. From his studies in Psychology Mr. Saul has gained an extensive knowledge of research and experimental methodology as well as statistical analysis. During the completion of his Bachelors and Masters degrees Mr. Saul increased his understanding of principles of Human Computer Interaction, Information Architecture, User-Interface Design, Requirements Capture and Usability Evaluation. Over the past fifteen years, these learned skills have been put into practice in a variety of situations. Mr. Saul has had the opportunity to hone and perfect his skills as well as garner new techniques during his career with Akendi, Macadamian Usability, Maskery & Associates, as an independent UX consultant, and at his own consultancy in the London, England.

Charlie Morling

Charlie joins the IoT613 team with years of technology experience, particularly with companies passionate about improving the Internet of Things and Machine to Machine management spaces within Ottawa. Born and raised in Ottawa, Charlie is a graduate of Algonquin College’s Business Marketing program and has worked with technology companies throughout Ottawa and Gatineau for more than six years now. Her areas of expertise span social media marketing, event planning, email marketing, and most things digital!

Robert Decher

Robert Decher is the marketing lead for IoT613 and has worked in marketing communications for over 15 years. With expereince in crown corporations and startups, Robert brings brand awareness, key messaging and media and public relations to the table. Robert is currently Marketing Communications Advisory at Accurate Creative a full-serivce marketing, branding and communications agency in Ottawa ON.


Walter Knitl

Walter founded Praxiem to help clients reduce the risk and time to deliver the right product and strengthen their return on investment. This ranges from business and investment assessment, through product introduction and commercialization, to ongoing lifecycle management. He has a record of successful product introductions and deep experience in Product Management and hands-on development in the ICT sector. Walter also founded and curates the Internet of Things eXchange Ottawa offering a platform for mutual awareness and promotion of IoT actors and activities in Ottawa.

Sarah Louise Dowling

Sarah is a graphic, web, and UI/UX designer for innovative businesses and groups, public and private sectors. She attended the University of Guelph for her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (BAS — specializations in Psychology: Brain and Cognition, and Studio Art) and Algonquin College for Graphic Design. She currently works with Algonquin College’s Marketing Department as a Graphic/Web Designer. Sarah assisted with the implementation and upkeep of the 2016 IoT613 website, as well as print design.

Nadya Rustandjaja

A volunteer member of IoT613 title sponsor CapCHI, this is Nadya’s second year of contribution to the conference, where she manages social media posts and publishes the monthly Things newsletter. A graduate of Carleton University’s Psychology program, Nadya works in web usability and user feedback in the public sector.
